I am long overdue an empties post and it is actually really hard for me to do these properly since I'm working in one place and I go home once in a while. So essentially I am collecting items in two locations and I would rather not be hauling thrash around.

All About Lips #79

This week, we discuss the Sheer Lipsticks.
I feel like sheer lipsticks have a bad name, people want something hydrating, packs a punch (in colour) and is long lasting. Sometimes, a sheer wash of colour is more flattering. Or you do not want too much going on with the lips but need a slight pick me up, this is where the sheer formulas stand out.

This is going up a day before my birthday (yes it is on the third!) and I shall be rocking bold lips this year.

Today's lips are all about Revlon ColourStay Moisture Stain.
I first mentioned it back in August when I went to Boots and swatched everything on the back of my hand.

There were a few colours that immediately jumped out at me but when I saw these Revlon moisture stain at Superdrug, the whole range was not readily available.
I pulled up my blog post quickly to have a look and picked up 3 since it was on an introductory offer.

I picked up Shanghai Sizzle, Barcelona Nights and Parisian Passion.

When I first saw these at boots I was beyond excited, just to realise that only the testers were out, the products were not actually available yet.

All about Lips #9

Yet another Lippy Tuesday.
Today it will be about all 4 colours of the Revlon Lip Butters that I own!

These received a lot of hype when they first came out and many beauty bloggers went mad about them.
Some didn't like them, just like any other product, you have the major fans and those who do not see the fuss.

I happen to fall into the first category.
These are my to-go lipsticks when I am not feeling as bold or when I just want a wash of colour without shine.

I have so many lip products it just feels like a never ending cycle

Revlon Colourstay Ultimate Suede in 025 Socialite

I picked this up a while back on a whim, when I was buying the Revlon Lip Butters or the balm stain and there was a 3 for 2 and I liked the colour of this.
It is not as nude as I had initially thought it would be, leaning more towards pink, but is still a gorgeous easy colour to wear.
The packaging is alright, much more pleasant than the lip butters, but nothing astonishing.
It has a clickey sound when you twist it up and down and I do like that.


Sephora Lipstick in No 7

I initially had this in another colour but gave it to my friend, I believe it was a No 6, because it was a little too cool-toned pink for me.
I like that it is a really slim lipstick but this was twisted all the way up and there is not very much product actually.

The Revlon is quite sheer compared to the Sephora but on my lips, can you spot the difference?

I started with nude lips as reference, and then the Revlon and lastly the Sephora lipstick.
From the full face pictures there really is not much difference but from the upclose picture, you can see that the Revlon is slightly glossier and the Sephora is pinker and has a more matte finish.


Here is a side by side comparison of the two. The lighting is a bit mad because I am using natural light, but the Revlon one looks more forgiving as it is sheerer.

Neither lipsticks are buildable and the Sephora one smells like sweets.

Haircut

So this is a bit of a side note from my usual blogging, unless you count ramblings as part of it.

I had a hair cut at Vidal Sassoon Academy, Brook Street. While there was a mix up, (my name was not on the appointment list), I managed to get my hair cut for £5 because I am a student and it is usually £11, still a bargain!
The only thing is you must have the time to sit there and let the students learn.
