Empties #32

I am long overdue an empties post and it is actually really hard for me to do these properly since I'm working in one place and I go home once in a while. So essentially I am collecting items in two locations and I would rather not be hauling thrash around.

Starting off with deodorant, one is a favourite and one is a fail.

Bionsen Japanese Spa Minerals 24 Hour Mineral Protective Deodorant - I love this and I prefer aluminium free deodorants because I think that the pits need to breathe. I don't use anti-perspirants for that reason and I think this is nice. It smells really fresh and I have about 5 bottles as back up because these are only available in UK. Yes, #obsessed.

MooGoo Fresh Cream Deodorant - This unfortunately was such a fail that I did not even finish it. It left white marks and the roller ball is really small and hard to actually use so no. Sorry.

Ego Sunsense SPF50+ - While I think that this must be super protection, I can't say I enjoyed it at all. It's your typical thick white sunscreen which smells ... like sunscreen. There are much more pleasant sunscreens out there, but this is a solid, reliable one for your family if you are going to the beach. My mum still has a few bottles so... I don't have a choice.

We cannot go through  one empties post without mentioning some baby wipes and today's choice is:

Topvalu Baby Wipes with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E - These are alright, nothing special, I can't say I like them particularly so I won't be repurchasing.

Method Waterfall Naturally Derived Foaming Hand Wash - I absolutely loved this and wanted to keep the bottle (which was the main reason I bought it) for repeated use of the foam action. Sadly, the pump broke shortly after the hand soap was used up. By itself, it is a lovely hand wash, it smells clean and cleanses without stripping. However, it is very expensive for a hand wash so I am not sure if I can justify repurchasing this.

Be Good To Coffee Cafe Handmade Scrubs - This is a lovely scrubby scrub. The sugar granules are decent so if you like a good scrub, this is it. If you have more sensitive skin, this might be too strong a scrub. I personally like it and the coffee smell is divine. However, the company has gone on hold for the moment which is really sad.

Possibly my only perfume empty ever? The Stella McCartney Eau De Toilette is really lovely and I like how small and portable the bottle is. I'm not the biggest fan of polka dots but this was really pretty sweet and cute. I was sad to see this finish but pretty chuffed that I finally have finished a perfume off!

Vichy Purete Thermale Fresh Cleansing Gel - This was nice and fresh feeling but if I use it a few days in a row morning and night, it feels drying after continuous usage, so perhaps it is not as gentle as it claims to be! I won't repurchase.

Ole Henriksen Empower Foaming Milk Cleanser - The name really was not attractive to me but when I tried it, my goodness this was so lovely I cannot believe it! This is truly a gentle foaming milk. Normally that does not appeal to me, but this was neither drying nor was it stripping. It foamed up enough to cleanse the face without any of the drying action. I love this and I would actually purchase a full size of this!

Hada Labo Gokyjyun Light Lotion - I use this as an extra step before serum and after acid toning. However, I am so lazy and did not use it consistently. I think it was alright, but I can't vouch that my skin changed or anything and really, the additional step is just one step too many in my books.

Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist - I actually really enjoyed this and the spritz is really fine. I would repurchase.

Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Treatment Overnight Resurfacer - I have no idea what I was doing with this and never felt like I was using it right so ..... sorry. I can't even give you a review of this because I do not know what was going on.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel - I really like this but it has alcohol and I'm not sure that is beneficial to the skin. As a result it dries really quickly on the skin and I can apply sunscreen or makeup and it does not overhydrate my skin.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum - I have repurchased because this is so lovely on the skin. I prefer it to the Vichy offering because the fragrance in this (if it is additional fragrance) is just gentler and more soothing. I tend to spray the Caudalie Organic Grape Water in it to try and stretch it out when I am on the last legs and before I get another bottle.

Melvita Argan Oil - I have repurchased because I really like this as well. Amazing stuff. Use it on your hair, face, body, everywhere!

Lancome Bi-Facial Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover - still my holy grail makeup remover, the Sephora's own is cheaper and just as effective but Lancome will always have a special place in my heart. I still recommend this if you can afford it but I buy the Sephora because it is cheaper.

Lanolips 101 Ointment Multipurpose Balm - Some people don't like this but I think it is incredible. It solves all my skin issues, from eczema to dry lips to chapped skin. Everything! It is hard to dispense when it is really cold but worth the effort in my books!

innisfree green barley multi cleansing tissue - This dried up really quickly for me because the sticky bit stopped working after 2 tissues were removed so that was a major fail. I didn't get to test it out properly at all and I had to saturate the tissues with micellar water before using so that was a fail turned into a workable situation.

Cleansing & Makeup Remover Towelette - This is the last of these towelettes and while it is alcohol free, there is mineral oil in this. It removes makeup alright but waterproof eye makeup was difficult and needed a bit of scrubbing.

There are only 3 haircare this time but they're all pretty lovely items.

Colab Sheer + Invisible Dry Shampoo in Monaco - This smells so incredible that I use it more as a hair fragrance than anything else. As a light refresher, it works really well and if it was available in Malaysia, I would no doubt buy it.

Melvita Frequent Wash Shampoo - I have bought a big bottle of this now. That's how much I like it. It does not irritate my scalp and is really gentle!

Sasson Illuminating Restore Treatment for Coloured Hair - Although I have had this for ages, I saved it until I had actually coloured my hair. I could see a difference when I use this and when I don't and this definitely made my hair shinier and colour not run as quickly when I washed my hair!

Dr. Jart Radiance BB Beauty Balm - I've decided to bid this goodbye because I always need to mix it with other things because it is way too fair for me and I'm not getting any fairer being in Malaysia. It is quite a radiant product (as the name suggests) so if you like matte finishes this is not for you. Also if you are NC25 or more, this is not going to work.

Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Linen - I actually really like this and now the shade is too pale on me. When I wear it on its own it looks grey on my face. However, the formula is on point and if I can get a hold of this, I will be repurchasing in a better shade for my current skintone!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer - I fell in for the hype, I don't think I ever liked this on my skin. Be it the shade or the finish on my skin, it just does not work.

Clarins Instant Concealer - I wish this came in a slightly darker shade. I love this but it is just slightly too fair on me! There are only 3 shades and the others are way off so I could not use them but can at least try to make this work but I have concealers I prefer because of the shade.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer - I actually love this concealer but the whole Collection range has been pulled off the shelves in Malaysia so I have not been able to repurchase!

Nudestix Highlighter & Contour Pencil - While this is labelled as a highlighter & contour pencil, I use it more as a concealer and the contour shade is way too warm for me to really work with as a contour. The texture of the pencils are nice (just like the rest of Nudestix products) but the colour was a little off.

Cheeky Kiss 'n' Tell Bed of Roses Lip and Cheek Tint- I was actually quite gutted that this had dried out on me but it is my fault for having so many products at the same time. It is a deep pink housed in a plastic and has a mirror so it's actually really handy for travel. It is a bit of a hard product but now that it's dried out it's time to say goodbye.

innisfree skinny longlongcara - I picked up two innisfree mascaras and the skinny brush caught my eye and I wanted to try if it would hold my curl up. No. I used it twice and it's now being binned. Stay away.

innisfree skinny waterproof microcara - The wand for this is so tiny that it is a little hard to use (more effort) but despite being a waterproof formula, it still does not hold a curl up. I cannot really be bothered so this is being binned as well.

clinique high impact macara - This has a really big, full brush that many people will like. I personally like the wand but the formula does not hold my curl up. Maybe they have a waterproof formula... Anyone knows?

clinique bottom lash mascara - I have this and black-brown and the brush is really tiny, just like the  innisfree skinny waterproof microcara. It is an additional step that really accentuates your eyes but this is now past the best by date so I am binning. I won't repurchase because I am too lazy!

perfekt lash perfection gel - I actually bought this to try out on a whim and the formula is really wet. It is meant to be really nourishing on the lashes but it weighed my lashes down to a dead straight state so I won't be recommending this.

laura mercier mascara - This gave me a lot of volume because of the big, full brush. The formula is not too wet or dry but unfortunately did not hold my curl up. I think it's a nice formula though!

eyeko black magic mascara (drama & curl) - I didn't like this at all because I felt like it smeared on my lashes and not only does it weigh my lashes down (no curl whatsoever) it just did not give me volume the way I expected it to! Disappointing.

eyeko lengthening skinny brush mascara (long & tall) - This is my favourite from eyeko. It really lengthens and separates without compromising too much on volume. However, it does not hold a curl up so I won't buy it again. This was a repurchase.

Chriszen Gel Eyeliner - I have not had this for that long but the combination of a packaging I did not like because the brush that is included is not really useable (it is way too thick) so I have decided to say goodbye to it. There is no real point in keeping products that you don't like/will not use.

Maybelline colour tattoo 24hour Leather Effect in Creamy Beige - I was wearing this non-stop for a good long time until it somewhat dried out. I feel like you can't really finish a pot without it drying out. I would repurchase if I see it.

Maybelline colour tattoo 24hour Leather Effect in Vintage Plum - This was patchy on me, which is a shame because I picked it up after seeing how much I love creamy beige and the colour on this is beautiful but the patchy finish made blending really hard.

Sephora Jumbo Liner Waterproof in Taupe - I have had this for a while and when I uncapped it the nib fell off so I'm saying goodbye. It's clearly dried out.

Sephora Jumbo Liner Waterproof in Brown - I have a new one of this and I thought I could let this one go because I have had it for quite a while.

Wet n wild Crayon - This was really awful. Think greasy and pigmentation just not happening and creases immediately. WHAT.

Topshop Kohl Eyeliner in Purple - This purple is so wearable and it has slight shimmer. I have had this for way too long and it's starting to crumble when I use it so I am binning it. I would repurchase.

Rimmel Scandaleyes in Bronze  - I love this eyeliner so much but I have had it for a really long time and I think with eye products I don't want to take the risk! I would repurchase.

Lord & Berry Glitter  Eyeliner - I have decided that with black I prefer a matte black eyeliner rather than one with glitter. I almost never reach for it.

Too Faced Natural At Night Eyeshadow Palette - I bought this off another makeup enthusiast and while there are a few shades I reach for, I don't typically reach for this eyeshadow palette. I have other palettes that I prefer and this is kind of a few years old so I thought it is okay to say goodbye.

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Power - After hitting pan on this favourite, I have not really been able to finish it up but since I only have a ring of product left I have decided to bin it. I like this and would repurchase.

Vichy Dermablend Powder - This leaves such a bad white cast on me if I bake with it and even if I try to use it sparingly it just looks white on me so I never reach for it. After several failed usage, I know I might as well say goodbye because I just never reach for it.

Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer in Medium - I actually use this a lot as a contour and I just love how it looks and I know how everyone talks about the scent of it but it really smells like chocolate aka AMAZING. However, mine had a weird film on it and after trying to scrape it off a few times, I gave up and am binning this because I have had it for a few years and it's probably time to say goodbye.

There has been so many makeup items this time because I did a clearout alongside the actual empty products. I think it's healthy to do a cleaout once in a while and I plan to be more consistent with this!
