Althea has launched a new programme and it's called Althea Angels! If you are an active beauty blogger, it is definitely worth checking out. This week, we were sent a surprise and you will be seeing this launched on Althea tomorrow!
A quick ode to the box that arrived, I absolutely love the personal touch and it does make me feel really special to be on the programme! I would like to reassure you all that Althea Angels are not paid for our blog posts/youtube reviews but we do receive products to test and review for you!
If you are wondering about the white product you have already seen, which is also the one on the top right corner, the "Spread Your Wings" is actually a really handy mirror. We also received the tote bag which was a gift with purchase when you shop with Althea, did you manage to snag it?
This pink toiletries bag is really useful and easy to wipe down (hello makeup smudges and skincare spills) The slogan is the same with the mirror and seems to be the theme for the programme this round. More importantly, we received a surprise in this package which is a collaboration project!
Althea has collaborated with Get It Beauty! What is Get It Beauty? It is actually Korea's No.1Beauty TV Show. We do not even have a Beauty TV show in Malaysia! It sounds so much fun. Get it Beauty offers various and broad beauty experiences, including verification by scientific testing to providing the chances to enjoy the beauty products in person. Why is Korea so cool, especially when it comes to beauty!
So what did Althea x Get It Beauty create for us? Real Fresh Skin Detoxer! What is that? It is actually a daily 10 second wash off mask. Daily? 10 second? Yes, you read that right. You only need to put it on for 10 seconds and wash it off!
Althea x Get It Beauty actually created 2 variations and this is the Green Tea for Purifying. Althea actually suggests using this in the evening but you can use it in the daytime if you prefer!
There is also a Rose version for Refining skin texture.
Having tried and tested both, it is really difficult to pick one! The Green Tea definitely feels more cleansing and the Rose one has a more calming effect, which explains why Althea recommends Rose for the morning and Green Tea for the evening. However, you can totally do the Green tea one on Saturday morning!
If you were wondering about the texture, these are both liquidy gel formulas and they are easy to spread on your face. The Rose one has pieces of rose petals picked from France in it and smells really beautiful. The Green Tea one has baby green tea leaves picked from the Jeju Green Tea Plantation.
I would recommend using a thin layer on your face as the way to take this off is to apply water to it and it will emulsify. From there, you can then rinse off, so using it in the shower is perfect!
So, starting off without any makeup (I have literally just removed it) and washed my face.
Let's try out these products on camera and show you how the look on the skin.
Starting off with the Real Fresh Skin Detoxer Green Tea.
You want to make sure you start off with clean dry skin, then apply a thin layer of this on the skin.
As such! Don't be scared because it will go on green!
Make sure you apply it as evenly as you can, and as THIN as you can get it. I once made the mistake of being overly generous and it was really difficult to wash off. I may have to just wait 10 seconds to wash it off, but it took at least 5 minutes to wash it off completely.
So please do a thin layer. This is why I keep harping on and on about this. Take it from me!
After 10 seconds, add water to emulsify and wash off! You are then left with skin that is really fresh and plump. I am actually surprised at how soft and plump my skin felt, yet really cleansed and refreshed. It is almost like the best of both worlds - clay masks and hydrating masks!
Then we have the Real Fresh Skin Detoxer in Rose. This is, in a way, the prettier mask to wear.
This Real Fresh Skin Detoxer in Rose, actually harnesses the power of Premium May Rose petals harvested by handpicking once a year in France. So this feels extra fancy and premium!
You cannot actually see it on the face, unlike the green tea mask. You do get the little bits of rose petals on your face while you wear this.
After 10 seconds, emulsify and wash it off your face. You can do this daily and it does not take much time at all. After using, skin feels really hydrated and plump. Since you have to wash it off, the skin also does not feel like the hydration is left as a film on top.
Skincare applies better after in that serums absorb better and faster. Makeup also sits smoother when I use this beforehand.
