Now you know how if you only have a carry-on bag, you are only allowed a little bag of toiletries that are not more than 100ml?
Welcome to travel mayhem!
Now here, you can see 3 bags. Let me clarify. The pink bag houses all things that are not creams/liquids and the top clear bag, is my boyfriend's toiletries. That essentially meant I packed it with gender neutral items we could both use on the holiday (I forgot the toothpaste) and then I packed my little bag of toiletries. EXPLOSION.
Let's start with the easiest and smallest bag.
Oral B 3D White Luxe Glamorous Shine toothpaste
Bio True contact lens solution
Carex Aloe Vera Hand Sanitiser
Ultrasun Sport SPF20 (decanted into philosophy bottle)
La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF50+
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturiser
And for now, let's deal with what goodies were in this gorgeous pink bag from Molton Brown
I packed some contact lens case, Shu Uemura eyelash curlers
Scottish Fine Soap Olive Soap, Erzo Laszlo soap
The Wet Brush, Venus Snap
Bare Minerals Original Foundation and Flawless Face Brush
and a whole lot of eyeliners and cream eye shadow sticks!
I tied them all up with a hair tie to keep it altogether and really to have an extra hair tie!
Tweezerman tweezers
Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner in Bronze
KIKO Glamorous Eye Pencil in 413
Sephora Jumbo Liner in Brown
And Other Stories Eyeliner in Mohair Khaki
Eye of Horus Goddess Pencil in Teal Malachite
Jouer Cream Eyeshadow Crayon in Renaissance
Nudestix Magnetic Eye Colour in Gilt
I will fess up, I did not use the tweezers at all, and I used the Sephora Jumbo Liner once with the Eye of Horus Goddess Pencil in my waterline, KIKO Glamorous Eye Pencil another day. The other pencils were not used at all and one day I went completely make up free!
Here is the super jam packed bag! There are 33 different products in here, and 37 as I have a double and a triple product. 37 items in that bag, even I am impressed.... =P
Starting with hair
Macadamia Oil in Argan bottle
Aveda Dry Remedy Oil
Sanctuary Hair & Scalp Rescue Mud
some random bits
Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief toothpaste
L'occitane Rose Hand Cream
L'occitane Shea Hand Cream
Crabtree & Evelyn Pear & Pink Magnolia Body Lotion
I accidentally packed the toothpaste in all honesty and I was trying to use up the L'occitane products but failed completely. The Crabtree & Evelyn body lotion smells so good but is better in small doses rather than all over as it can be a little overwhelming!
To smell good or to smell good
I have three blink eyedrops and I always have some lying about my handbag just in case my eyes get dry. It can feel really horrible, especially as I wear contact lenses so those are essentials in my handbag. I also had a Roger & Gallet Fig EDP, Burberry Body EDP and L'occitane Rose Roller Ball EDP.
Now onto makeup!
Kiehl's Micro Blur Skin Perfector Primer
Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Linen
Nars Matte Multiple in Laos
Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eye Primer
Benefit Sunbeam Highlighter
Benefit PosieTint
Benefit BeneTint
L'oreal Brow Artist Plumper
Eyeko Black Magic Mascara
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Pink Pong
I did not use the Kiehl's at all, but used the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint everyday that I wore makeup. The Benefit kit is litereally the cutest thing ever. I also really like this Eyeko Black Magic Mascara.
Skincare time!
Nuxe Creme Fraiche Mask
Benefit They're Real Make Up Remover
Aveda Tourmaline Charged Moisturiser
Pixi Glow Tonic in Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner
Clarins Blue Orchid Treatmet Oil
Shu Uemura Anti-Ox Cleansing Oil
Caudalie Polyphenol Serum
Caudalie Polyphenol Eye & Lip Cream
Dr PawPaw Balm
Lanolips Multi-purpose Balm
Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser
Apart from the Benefit which was a trial (I don't like it) everything is tried and tested. Oh wait, and the Ole Henriksen which is a real discovery!
The two lip balms (not counting the lip product and the multipurpose things which I use as lip balm mainly)
Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint in Budding Blossom
L'occitane Pivoine Sublime in Rose Amber SPF25
I used the L'occitane lip balm daily, solely for the SPF protection and the red tint it provided and in all honesty, I did not find the Clinique in my handbag so did not look for it. Whooops.
I randomly found these as well, forgetting to add them and not wanting to miss them out. Basically I brought along a muslin cloth because they dry really quick and this particular one is from Eve Lom but any flannel would do. I prefer muslin for travelling because of the aforementioned drying time.
I also had a Lush Lullaby shampoo bar which I am still trialing and deciding on how I feel about and my HG Caudalie Organic Grape Water, which was used repeatedly.
I packed a lot of items which I ended up not using at all, something which I don't struggle with other items in the travel bag, but very much so with skincare and makeup. I like the idea of option and not having no choice at all, but I wear less makeup than usual when travelling and sometimes just forego it altogether.
Do you have any tips on travelling light?
