Happy Chinese New Year to all my dear readers! I hope you are enjoying your time back with family and friends. On my recent trip to USA, I saw that they actually do Maui Moisture in travel sizes and thought it is an excellent way to try out the range. I also saw that they have the Gold Bond cream in travel size, which I had seen a few advertisements on tv, so picked that up too.
Starting off with the Gold Bond Ultimate Healing and it is for dry, problem skin. The first three ingredients are water, glycerin and dimethicone. I find that a lot of creams which are supposed to protect problematic skin, has silicones to form a barrier on top.
So needless to say, if your skin reacts to silicones or if you are not keen on silicones for any reason, this is one to avoid. I actually find it quite helpful when creams form a barrier on the skin. I only use creams like these on the driest parts of my body (shins) or on areas which need protecting like eczema areas.
I would not necessarily smear it everywhere, and especially not anywhere around the face.
Here is a look of the Gold Bond cream, and it actually feels a lot like the Neutrogena hand cream. I like it and will continue using it.
We also have the Maui Moisture Heal & Hydrate Shea Butter Shampoo & Conditioner. There are various versions and I picked it more on the scent. I am happy to report that my hair and scalp love this and that this has aloe vera as the first ingredient (followed by water). I will repurchase the full size.
This has proved to be a very successful haul from Target and I am really pleased with the discovery of Maui Moisture. I am usually quite happy when I discover a brand which works for my finicky hair but especially so, when it is affordable and readily available!
