Those of you who suffer from itchy eyes will know what an absolute pain it is (or itch rather). You feel like tearing your eyes out, giving them a good wash and popping them back in. Anything, to stop the itch. I find that a cooling compress helps, or a sleep mask, to stop yourself from being able to itch. However, some days the situation is so dire, I crack out an eye lotion to soothe things. Enter the Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion.
I picked this up at Boots, and really wish they had a smaller bottle for travel. The cap is very interesting in that you do not screw it completely off.
It remains attached to the body but it twists up to allow you to squeeze product out. I have brought it along with me in a bag and it did not leak everywhere when screwed back properly.
Enough about the packaging (which I really do like because it is simple), the lotion itself has a slight scent which I think is the witch hazel. It surprisingly works well in the blend and does not irritate the eyes. You see the usual cornflower in the ingredient list, which is also in the Melvita version, which I really love as well.
I find this to be cooling on the eyes and definitely soothing. I tend to just use it when I have itchy eyes. I just dispense enough product on two cotton rounds and put them on top of my eyelids and just rest and it soothes the eyes straightaway. I have noticed that it does take away the remnants of eye makeup if you have not properly removed them, but do not expect it to break down waterproof mascara!
I am really very interested to try out more Liz Early products and have a review coming on the cult classic cleansing cream. It is so raved about and I really wanted to try it out after loving this so much.
