Rocky Mountain Soap Co

My sister from Canada had bought me a whole care pack of products from Rocky Mountain Soap Co which is so sweet and thoughtful and I have to say that it was the first things I dug my grubby fingers in.

In the actual bag, you get a nice box. I love that there are watercolour drawings and I have actually saved this because it is so pretty.

My sister probably bought this card, or maybe it was included, I have no idea, but she did write me the loveliest of messages, which I have saved for just between us to preserve privacy.

The brand included another note/card as well.

They introduced the company, which I liked and again, the card was so pretty that I decided to keep it.

Now, onto the products actual. My sister was insanely generous and picked 5 items for me to try out and I have a lot of loves here.

Starting off with the Rocky Mountain Soap Co Sugar Scrub in French Lavender, which is simply delightful. I did a little research online and it appears that mine has been all melted and the actual product is meant to be a creamy consistency, but I live in Malaysia and it is hot!

The ingredient list looks really good but more importantly, it scrubs amazingly.

I always mix it up, because my pot is melted (as attested by my sister and the online site). It does leave your bath tub or shower tiles really oily and dangerous so be careful. However, this smells so amazing, I already want another one.

Next we have 2 sun related products. 1 is a sunscreen and 1 is an aftersun.

Starting off with the after sun, I never thought of this, but having an after sun is a stick form, is surprisingly handy.

I apply this to all my sun exposed areas and some sun kissed (burnt) areas and it works a treat to instantly soothe it. I think it is the coconut oil instantly coating it and preventing the sting from even just air blowing on the tender skin.

I will admit that I have actually been able to travel with this without it counting as a liquid. You are technically supposed to declare any creams/gels/semi-solids as liquids but I just throw this into my bag as a regular item and have gotten away with it so far.

I would recommend applying directly from the stick and then gently buffing it out with your hands. Sometimes I skip the buffing stage if I am too lazy to get my hands oily and have to wash them. Would I recommend this? Definitely. I really love this. I even use it just to moisturise my limbs when I am extra lazy.

Now, the Rocky Mountain Soap Co Face & Body Sunscreen is a pretty popular product on their page. It is made with Organic Shea Butter, has SPF31, smells of Vanilla Coconut and genuinely smells like a cake.

It is ridiculously sweet and I have to stop myself from tasting it because it just tastes like cake. It is a mineral sunscreen and reef safe, which I am trying to move towards.

Since this is made with organic shea butter, the texture is thicker and it actually feels like a mini workout trying to squeeze out the product.

The actual product has some serious grey going on. It blends out with a teeny bit of a white cast but it is thick and difficult to spread.

So I am really sad to say that I really did not enjoy using this because I was really excited that this might be the "natural" sunscreen which is reef safe that I am looking for. Alas, the application is unpleasant and not for me. The hunt continues.

We also have this Rocky Mountain Soap Co Day Cream in Pomegranate. This is a smaller travel size and you can get a bigger pot of it.

I like that this comes in a glass jar, it feels eco-conscious and elevates the product just be its packaging.

The product does not feel thick at all, almost having a gel-like consistency with a slight lotion feeling, it is lightweight.

When you go to blend it into the skin, it feels robust in that you can definitely feel it on your skin but it is not heavy or cloying on your skin. I enjoyed this and had no issues using it under sunscree, under makeup or just by itself.

Finally, the last product we have is the Rocky Mountain Soap Co Calming Face Mask in Lavender & Oat.

All the products have clearly labelled expiry dates, but this was the closest when I opened to try it out and I was really conscious of finishing it up before it expired.

First things first, it smells incredible. I also really enjoy mixing the mask into a paste in my hands and applying it to my face. I do find that this does not rinse very clean and needs either a face cloth or cotton pads soaked in toner to remove completely. I did really like this and want to try the other face masks in the range as well as replenishing on this when I visit Canada!

In all honesty, we have quite a few hits, and 1 fail. I am very impressed with the brand and range, but still feeling quite sad about the sunscreen not working out. Have you guys tried this range and what were your thoughts?
