So last night I received an email from Liberty about an up to 20% off and double points event and I knew I had to pop in. Sadly, most brands that I like were only doing 10%, but better than nothing?
So first off, I went to Aveda, as I am in love with their Moisture Range. It is aptly named Dry Remedy.
I used to be obsessed with the hair masque
and I would use it almost every time I washed my hair (I try to wait a day in between washes) but they have since come out with a new packaging and formula.
I personally preferred the old scent, it smelled stronger and heavier, which gives me the impression that it is more nourishing, but it is sadly no longer available so I have bought the conditioner. I did not buy the masque as it came in a tiny bottle and I go through conditioner and masque as if my hair is dehydrated in the sahara desert (which it kind of is) so I bought the 1000ml.
One thing I do love about this is the packaging. The old packaging was very awkward to squeeze when it was not full and the base (being the cap) was smaller than the rest of it, so it fell over a lot in the shower, which annoyed me to no end.
I will be decanting this new 1L bottle out to a smaller bottle to use as the 1L will just cause my arms to ache and if I have had an arms day at the gym, I will simply not be able to wash or condition my hair.
Upwards and onwards to make up. I stopped by Nars to check out their eyeliner after hearing Fleur rave about them. I tried both the blue one and the black one that she mentioned but ended up (after a long long debate) getting the green and black.
This is the Nars Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner. It features a twist up with a little sharperner at the end of the pencil which you can detach to sharpen the nib.
I bought the matte black shade which is called Via Veneto and a shimmery forest green shade called Rue De Rivoli (I attached a picture from the Nars Website of the shade)
As I am typing this I am testing them out on each eye, both the upper lid and lower waterline, for durability and smudge test. So far it has been an hour in and they are looking mighty fine!
Moving on, I grabbed a skincare product so that I could cover all bases, and picked up the REN Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask
especially since I already have the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask and they work well together.
In case you were wondering, you use the Glycolactic mask first, followed by the Detox Mask, so Orange then Green. I love the Glycolactic mask and it really leaves my skin super soft. I usually follow up with the Clarins Pure and Radiant Mask (with pink clay) which I absolutely adore.
However, I have had pleasant results with REN so far and they are slightly cheaper/more affordable so I am trying some of the items to see how I get along with them.
As a last minute decision, I grabbed two of the Korres Lip Butters. I have managed to misplace the Jasmine one
and could not justify buying another pot of the same thing, so got the Pomegranate and the Quince ones instead.
This is the Quince Lip Butter
It is a slightly redder tint finish and leans towards berry, but on the lips it is just a tint of red because it is quite sheer but feels amazingly buttery and luxurious. This is the Pomegranate Lip Butter
It is a slightly more coral finish. I wanted to pick up the mango one as I love the scent but gave it a miss as it came out so orange on my wrist when I swatched it and got this one instead. I do not think these will replace the Jasmine Lip Butter for me, but they are lovely for this warm weather as they add a tint of colour and will be all I need on days I do not want to wear lipstick/lipgloss/one of the MANY lip items I have.
These have set me back quite a bit, the month has just started and let's just say things are not looking too great for the bank account, no thanks to Liberty and a cheeky online shop with ASOS.
Oh Lord. Have you bought anything this April's Fools Day?
