Lixir as a brand, burst onto the beauty scene with quite an explosion because the founder, is none other than Colette Haydon. A quick google would show you that Colette is the mixologist behind many cult brands, which is why when she launched her own skincare, people stood up and paid attention!
I only picked up the smaller, travel version of the Lixir Universal Emulsion at Liberty's Beauty Hall after much contemplation. There is also the famous Electrogel cleanser, Vitamin C paste and clay rubber mask, but I decided that this would be my first foray into the brand.
Upon squeezing this product out, it just looks like any other moisturiser. It is said to be a day cream, night cream, primer, serum, moisturiser, eye cream, neck cream, hand cream, face cream, all in one. I think you get the picture.
The real magic happens, when you warm this up in your hands and apply it to your skin. It feels robust enough, but not so heavy as to feel claggy. It feels nourishing enough, yet not oily. In colder weather, it is even soothing and moisturising. I absolutely love how this feels all over my face, even over eyelids and lips.
While this does not contain SPF, the way it is formulated means it offer SPF15 protection. I also really love the pink packaging (sorry not sorry) and would look into repurchasing the bigger tube. For now, this is already in my travel bag.
I would completely recommend this product.
