The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is one of the ventures of the pixiwoo sisters who I am a fan and follower of on youtube. Sam and Nic are funny and really good at makeup, and worth following.
Some people say that this is a dupe for the beauty blender. I can see why people think that and while I love the beauty blender, it does cost $20 and the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge cost $5, a fraction of the beauty blender.
Now the main difference is that the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge has a flat side which makes blending a different experience. I quite like it in all honesty and it can be used both wet or dry. When used wet, the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge sheers out the foundation so that coverage is not as high. You can also tap the foundation in or use it more like a brush where you swipe it on. Swiping rather than tapping also sheers out the foundation.
I don't think the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is a dupe for the beauty blender but I think that it is an excellent beauty sponge which works beautifully. I have tried some cheaper dupes that really look like the beauty blender but are so hard that using that and bouncing it against my face is not pleasant. This however, I like so much that I have bought 2 more.
My only regret? I wish I had discovered this earlier.
