When Sephora was bringing in Kat Von D to Malaysia, I knew I wanted to get the famous liquid eyeliner in trooper, and that I wanted one of the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. Which to pick was a more difficult question but I eventually decided to get the classic and the first bestseller - Lolita!

Now the first thing to note is that the packaging is really sleek and beautiful. It is one of those that if you have more than one, they will look stunning in a photograph and the design is pretty in pictures but stunning in real life too! How does it translate to actual usability?

Personally, the doe foot applicator is too long for my liking. It allows less control and control is what one needs for something like a pigmented liquid lipstick! So that is the trade off for beautiful packaging. It gets better with usage because I learnt how to use it with more control, but there is a learning curve.

Here are some swatches of the product and you can see that it runs brown-nude and slightly cool. It does not look cool here but compared to Lolita II, it is quite cool toned.

Just for comparison, the swatch on the right is Lolita and the one on the left is Double Dare. so you can see that Lolita is cooler in tone and more brown.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita on me. It looks rather dark on me and is not a comfort colour for me at all.

It is quite comfortable on the lips in that you do not feel it on once it has dried down (quite fast) but it is not the most forgiving on lines on the lips. I also find that it wears off if you eat or drink, particularly anything oily.
However, it wears off quite prettily and so far I have never caught myself looking into the mirror and thinking "WTH" or "OMG".

If you are prone to dry lips, I probably will not recommend these because like other matte liquid lipsticks, they are drying. I used lip balm while doing my skincare to try and counteract that. Overall, I do like these and I have since purchased another colour - Double Dare, which will be next week's All About Lips post!
