 So I've included swatches of the product, and you can see that even though this is the fair-medium one, it is not too light, and it is ashy enough.

I've also blended out the swatch further away from my wrist and hopefully you can see that it blends really easily.

Here are some pictures of my face before I use the contour pen but with foundation and blusher on already.

 I do a little on my nose and then just under the cheekbone.

As you can see, once blended out, it is really natural and just a hint of shadow, nothing too strong or harsh.

 It is actually really subtle, and cream products tend to be less harsh. If you are a newbie like me, go for cream products because it is more forgiving.

 I hope you find this helpful, and I really do like this product. I have heard that you get a lot more product with the Smashbox trio, and I am going to check that out when I run low on this, but for now I use it reasonably often and I have not made much of a dent in it so there is plenty to go.
