I am contemplating writing empties and monthly favourites in alternate months. Or maybe just an empties post once every two months as I am cutting down on blog post frequency, unfortunately due to work schedule.
However, I have such a massive empties this month that I could not wait until February so here we are! If you thought the picture is all my empties for the month.... Well, it's only skincare.
Let's start off with the more exciting group.....
Makeup
I have 3 eyeliners here which I am saying goodbye to...
Essence eyeliner pen - This is a good eyeliner for the price point. It does need replacing more often as the felt tip gets worn off but the price point allows for frequent replacement. I will repurchase.
Sleek blue eyeliner - This was dried out by the time I received it in my Luxola order so I was really disappointed and did not get to try this out at all.
L'oreal Super Liner Eyeliner Pen - This was featured in one of my Favourite Five posts on eyeliners but it actually smudges on me in Malaysia. It does not stand up to the humidity and heat here.
wet n wild vicious varnish high shine lip stain - This has gone really gloopy and weird, so I am binning it because it is just.... weird. I have not even had this for that long so it is quite disappointing.
Lancome Hypnose Mascara - I actually really like this mascara even though it has a fat brush as compared to the usual plastic bristles that I like, and I have another of this mascara.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer in Eden - I like this but I prefer the original formula.
Watsons Eyelash Curler - I actually forgot my Shu Uemura and Shiseido Eyelash Curlers in UK and so I needed something rather badly and picked this up. It did work, but when I got my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers back, I realised that this Watsons Eyelash Curlers does not hold the curl half as well, so I am saying goodbye to it.
Next up is Haircare
Somehow I have three shampoos and only one conditioner, this almost never happens.
Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Shampoo - This was nice but a little heavy on my hair. I love the conditioner and the primer but the shampoo added weight to my roots where I don't particularly want, whereas I liked how it made the rest of my hair look and feel. I will not repurchase.
Hotel Conditioning Shampoo - I picked this up from a hotel and will be keeping it for the portable packaging but I used it for my brushes.
Mercure and me conditioning shampoo - I have no idea if I have the brand right, but I used this for washing my brushes too but it was rubbish at it. I don't know why or how but it was really bad and ineffective so I was disappointed.
Dove Intense Repair Conditioner - Yet another one, and I still have a few, maybe two left. Can you believe it? This is alright, but just alright.
Coming onto Bodycare products now and there is quite a pile going on as well!
Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion - I initially tried this in the UK and really did not like it, but here in Malaysia it is actually quite a nice way to quickly moisturise. To me, this will not replace traditional body lotions and body butter as I really enjoy the process but on days I am in a rush, this is a good alternative!
Weleda Skin Food - This is intense stuff and I actually use this on my feet a lot because it is intense. I don't really use it on my face because it is too thick to spread around without really rubbing my face. I sometimes use it all over my body and it is REALLY nice. I will repurchase.
The Body Shop Peach Body Butter - I love The Body Shop Body Butters and this smells really nice. I do like it but prefer the Olive and Aloe ones.
The Natural Bar Lavender & Vanilla Luscious Body Butter - This smells INCREDIBLE, like THE BEST THING EVER. I am dead serious. However, the texture... no.... It is a whipped body butter which feels soft and fluffy when you scoop it out but once you melt it between your palms or even on your leg or whatever, it is really thick and oily. The oily does stay on even until the next morning. Yes, you wake up feeling really soft and moisturised and nice, but during the night you will stick onto your pyjamas and then the bedsheets and just... No. I am sorry, I wanted to love this.
Rituals Honey Touch Body Butter - This is my third and last tub, but I am repurchasing. It is so beautiful in texture, and really soft and melts onto the skin.
Shokubutsu Anti-Bacteria Bright Body Foam - I love Shokubutsu as a range and their shower gel is really foamy, so I really like it. This is one of the ones I tried and while it is nice, I will not repurchase because this is supposed to be a brightening one.
Dead Sea Bath & Shower Gel - Another hotel item, this was alright, but the bottle is not very secure so I am recycling this one!
Bionsen Deo Total Body - This was actually a bottle with crystals and you add water to use it. You can refill it 5 times, but mine went a little funny because I left it for one whole year. Whoops. I can't vouch if it works and I personally prefer the Bionsen Roll On Deodorant.
Straight onto skincare, there is SO MUCH that it looks slightly crazy. Now we better dive right in.
By the way, these are just the cleansers. How insane is that?
Biore Cleansing Oil - This was really nice and one of the cheapest cleansing oil in the market. I still love the Shu Uemura offering but I like this one for everyday and it is good value and works well.
Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water - While it works, this is highly fragranced and I do not like that so I am recommending the Bifesta Micellar Water instead. I will not repurchase this.
Hada Labo AHA + BHA Foaming Cleanser - I only use this in the evening and as a second cleanse and it is nice in the shower because it rinses away quickly and really clean. I sometimes use it on my back as well to try and clear up the scars from my bacne. I think that it is alright but I will probably be trying out other things.
Ren ClearCalm Clarifying Clay Cleanser - I love this so much and I was so upset when I ran out of it so I know I will be picking another one up.
Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser - This smells really refreshing and I like it. I have a full review on it and I received another sample bottle so no need to repurchase yet.
Origins Modern Friction Microdermabrasion - I actually am not sure if I like this or not but it comes in a really creamy base so you get a really good cleanse and proper work, but I cannot decide if I like this. Sorry!
Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser - I found this and I don't think I can use it as I have had this since 2011! I remember loving this and it smells quite refreshing/zesty. It almost feels like a micellar solution now that I think about it but I am quite certain this is for face and not eyes!
Now that cleansers are done, let's deal with toners!
Caudalie Organic Grape Water - You may be no surprise to this favourite, and nothing has bumped it from its spot. I mean, I have another 3 back ups apart from the new 1 I just cracked open. That's how much I love it.
Neutrogena Alcohol-free Toner - I use this in the morning and it was decent, no complaints but I don't think I will be repurchasing.
Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner - This was a green solution and it was alright, quite nice. I don't mind repurchasing when I run out of my Peter Thomas Roth since I cannot get hold of Pixi Glow Tonic.
Hada Labo Mild Peeling Lotion - This is quite gentle so if you are afraid of acid toners, here is a good place to start. I do like this and may repurchase it.
Now finally, the last bits - serums and moisturisers.
Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age Serum - I LOVE THIS and I am dying to repurchase but it is harder to get hold of it now that I am in Malaysia. It is one of my favourite serums and I have a full review on my blog!
Hylamide SubQ Eyes - I am not a fan of this at all and even though it ONLY stung the first time, I was quite put off and generally don't see much difference and I just.. don't really like it.
Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Lotion - Designed for normal to combination skin, I generally don't gravitate towards brands like this for skincare as I think they are more make up brands but the lotion was really nice. It is highly fragranced (smells very luxe) and I would if I could afford it.
Nuxe Nuxellence Detox Night Cream - This was a really lovely night cream and I would recommend picking it up. I do think that it is quite expensive so if you can afford it, go for it!
L'occitane Ultra Matte Fluid - This is really effective if you have oily skin. I have combination skin but it does not dry the normal parts of my skin but it is really good at controlling oil. I was told by the lady selling this to me that I have to use a different night cream to ensure that my skin is getting enough nourishment. I recommend this but I will not repurchase because my skin is no longer as oily so I don't really need this anymore.
Boots Skin Clear Spot Stick - This got grubby really quickly and although it is good for a quick fix, I am not sure if I like the hygiene factor and probably will not repurchase. It does work!
Boots Botanics All Bright Cleansing Face Wipes - I really like this and the cloth is actually really thin and so it feels really gentle on the face. I will repurchase.
Boots Essentials Moisturising Cleansing Wipes - I have loads of these and continue to use them, especially for removing lip products and arm swatches. Works a treat!
The final bits of the skincare are these facial masks.
L'Herboflore Perfume Lotus Balancing Hydromask - I do not like sheet masks but this was really lovely and it did not break me out. My skin felt really soft and the next day my skin was really soft and did not feel oily or anything.
SNP Animal Panda Whitening Mask - I actually did not use this because my friend Putu, who kindly brought and supplied this, used it. I don't think the mask did anything but it was really fun.
SNP Animal Otter Aqua Mask - This is actually the one I used and again, I do not think it did anything much, it was pampering and really fun.
Oral-B Pro Health Mouthwash - One of the favourite mouthwash as it does not burn.
OCM Mouthwash - This smells bad, tastes bad, NO.
Regenerate Toothpaste - I trialled this and honestly, I did not see any difference in my tooth enamel. It did keep my teeth quite white, considering it is not a whitening toothpaste. I do feel that you will need a longer time to see actual results and it is not an immediate thing. I have faith in it, but I am unsure if I will spend that sort of money. Now if only there is a fail safe way to get the results....
£1 Beauty Sponge - This was really hard and I do not like it at all. Bad dupe.
Ikea Blue Candle - Another candle down, I still have a few to go.
Nails Inc Non Acetone Nail Polish Remover Cloth - This was strangely effective but only when I pour nail polish remover on it, then nail polish is off almost instantly. My mum accidentally threw it away which I am quite sad as I was going to keep it and reuse it.
Total : 47 items
If you read all of that, kudos to you. I had to take a few breaks writing this up as it was driving me slightly mental. How did I have so many products? I swear things all finish at the same time!
