Empties #52

Let's just say I have a few eyeliners lying around that are way too old to be putting anywhere near my actual eyes...

Starting off with these 3 liquid eyeliners

The illamasqua precision ink in havoc is a really lovely reddy shade and I loved it but it's now quite a few years and I do think it is time to say goodbye to it.

The Heroine Make Waterproof Liquid eyeliner I never found dark or black enough for my personal preference and worse of all, would always smudge on me. No thanks.

The Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner in Forest Brown I really enjoy and the dark brown is very flattering and less harsh than black. It also has a felt tip which is easier for beginners to use and due to the cheaper price point, I don't mind the felt tip. I generally prefer a brush tip.

Then we have 5 eyeliners which I am saying goodbye for similar reasons - old and not up to standards.

The eyeko black magic eyeliner is really disappointing. It swatches grey and is no where as creamy or black as I expect an eyeliner to be. In fact, drugstore eyeliners perform better than this.I don't see it on the site anymore, and that is probably a good thing!

The Model Co Blue Eyeliner was a gift inside a magazine purchase. While I really like the blue shade, it is just so dry and hard on the eyes and it smudges. No thanks.

The Sephora Colour Eye Pencil I did not swatch because the nib was quite broken up from when I dropped it on the floor and I cannot really be bothered with it ever since.

The Maybelline Colourshow Crayon Kohl is a really pretty bright blue but I seldom reach for it and the formula feels quite hard and dry on the eyes.

The Marc Jacobs Eyeliner is really creamy in comparison with the above eyeliners but I have had it for a while and there are other eyeliners which I favour over this so I am saying goodbye to it.

Then we have mascaras. Let's go through the good, the bad, the never again.

Starting off with Maybelline mascaras. I really like the Maybelline Sensational Waterproof Mascara. If you are looking for long, fluttery, separated lashes, this is your mascara.

The Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel Waterproof Mascara is a step up and more buildable than the prior mascara. I started off not liking this mascara and prefering the red tube, but I have since changed my mind and repurchased this!

I did not get to test the L'oreal Telescopic Extra Black Mascara properly as it was very wet when I first started using it so I left it to dry for a bit, and forgot about it. So when I finally did remember, it was dried out. Whoops.

The Covergirl Clump Crushes Water Resistant Mascara did not hold a curl up and everyone knows it's a deal breaker for me. I found that it separated my lashes but not much else, no length, no curl. no nadah.

Although I love the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara, the same cannot be said for the It Cosmetics Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Mascara or the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara.

The It Cosmetics Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Mascara has a pretty scary wand and I just do not find that it gives as much length/volume as the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara. Just go with that one.

The It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara has a dinky wand which I like but it smudges on me and does not hold a curl up (non waterproof). If they released a waterproof formula, I would be all over it.

I actually cannot tell which MakeUpForEver Mascara this is but it was relatively nice, pleasant, gave length, volume and separation. I just was not super blown away due to the price point and I can get mascaras from Maybelline that are similar.

The Clinique Chubby Lash Mascara I actually ordered from the States because I loved the colour of it. It is just something a little different and less stark than black. When you go to take ooff your eye makeup, you are likely to give yourself a fright (I did, every single time, without fail) but I did enjoy it. It does not hold a curl so I always used a wateproof formula first but it was worth it for the pop of colour.
