I have been away in the States for a month so this is a month's worth of empties. I did bring as many samples as I could to finish up.
I am thinking of changing my blogging schedule to Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for the new year. It's like a new year - a new change!
Let's start with haircare. There is an array of shampoos and conditioners.
Watsons Repairing Treatment Wax - Not my favourite hair mask but certainly value for money. It does deliver on its promise of soft & smooth hair. However I don't like the texture of it or the scent so I will not be repurchasing.
Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo Super Rich Wash - This is a really thick shampoo that I truly struggled to squeeze out of the bottle. It was nice on the scalp but left my hair feeling like dried hay so I don't think it is a rich shampoo at all.
Paul Mitchell The Detangler Super Rich Conditioner -This conditioner is lovely, I like it but it did not wow me.
hair is fabric intensive detox cleansing conditioner - This is a terrific cleansing conditioner, a deep cleansing one. I like it so much that I have repurchased it along with some others to try out but this particular one is my favourite.
Under The Canopy White Citrus & Lime Shampoo - This scent is so nice and the shampoo was alright. I like that it is eco friendly and formulated with no SLS.
Under The Canopy White Citrus & Lime Conditioner - This scent is also really nice and it helps the scent linger longer. The conditioner is alright but not intense enough for my coarse hair.
Rituals Deep Sea Minerals & Japanese Mint Cool Hair - This shampoo is invigorating on the scalp and I really like how it feels. My scalp did itch a little so I think it is not too agreeable with me. The bottle is also not one that withstands a lot of squeezing because the plastic is quite flimsy.
Rituals Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk It's A Wrap - This smells delicious and that is probably a bad reason to like something but I love Rituals as a brand. It is a decent conditioner but I prefer something a bit richer.
R Revitalizing Conditioner - This was another hotel conditioner and this was unimpressive, I don't even remember anything about it.
Onto some makeup bits.
Silkygirl Perfect Matte Liquid Eyeliner Waterproof - I have just included this in my December Favourites and I am really sad but it is drying up on me after months of usage. I will be repurchasing this without a doubt.
Perfekt Beauty Brow Perfect Gel - This is a nice grey-brown colour that is good on my brows. The brush is a little large so that makes it a bit harder to use. I have quite thick brows so I don't have too much problem with the brush but a smaller brush is probably easier to wield and use.
innisfree eye primer - This is the most affordable eye primer I have tried and it is not half bad. I do prefer the Urban Decay offering over this but it is a lot more in price and the Nars one which I love is too expensive. If you want to try an eye primer, this is not a bad place to start.
Let's move on to the Miscellaneous pile. There are only 3 items here this month.
essence quick & easy sponge nail polish remover - This works alright and is a fraction of the price of the Sephora offering but I prefer the Sephora one because this one you have to shake up and the sponge is a little too soft. It is easier to use the Sephora one so I will repurchase that instead.
Toothbrush - This is a disposable toothbrush I picked up from ANA Crown Plaza Hotel Chitose, and one of my favourite hotel toothbrushes. It is sturdy but soft so a winner in my books. However, I have used it for more than a month and it is time to say goodbye!
This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray - This is a repurchase and I used to have a big bottle of this as well. I really enjoy the scent of this. Although I do not need any help in the sleep department so I can't vouch that it works in that sense, I thoroughly enjoy the relaxing scent and would repurchase if it was not such a crazy price in Malaysia.
eartherapy mouthwash - I thought it was quite thoughtful for the Inn At The Opera Hotel San Francisco to provide mouthwash as well as the usual shampoo, conditioner shebang. This was pleasant enough that we took the extra bottle along. If the bottle proves to be able to travel without leaking, I would certainly be reusing it.
The next lot of items would be the bodycare.
Softsoap Antibacterial Fruit Essentials Handsoap in Juicy Melon - This smells really like a juicy melon. I don't like that it is antibacterial so I will not repurchase it for that reason.
Neutrogena Concentrated Hand Cream - This hand cream packs a real punch. It is really thick and I actually struggle to squeeze it out of the tube. If you have dry skin this will really help. I prefer a softer hand lotion personally so I will not repurchase this.
Be Good To Handmade Lotion Bar in Lavender Dreams - This smells incredible and I really love it. I did try to stretch it out but because this is a fresh product, it started to smell weird indicating that the product is past the best before date. I finished up the last legs on my legs to nourish them and the lotion still nourished. Unfortunately Be Good To is taking a break so I won't be able to repurchase it.
Keri Original Moisture Therapy - I will be honest I finished this up but I did not start when it was a new bottle. The lotion is quite thick and the first ingredient in mineral oil so I make sure I apply this straight after showering and not on dry skin. This is because mineral oil locks in any moisture but it is unable to provide any moisture or nourishment.
Clairol Herbal Essences Moisturising Body Wash (Dry Skin Formula) - This smells really nice and is made from 98% natural and plant-derived ingredients. The formula is also biodegradable. I really enjoyed it and would purchase a full bottle of it.
L'Herboflore Camellia Shower Gel + Body Lotion - The Camellia Shower Gel smells really floral and fresh, surprisingly the body lotion is slightly muskier. I like the scent of both and the lotion is quite light on the body. something I would use in the daytime because it smells so nice and because of how lightweight it is. I would not repurchase unless it was really reasonable in price.
Life NK Drift Away Body Wash + Body Lotion - I expected this to smell more lavender like but it is quite musky. I can't say it is a favourite at all. It was not bad but I did not find it soothing or helping me drift away. Sorry.
Under the canopy White Citrus & Lime Body Lotion - This smells so nice and my parents and I could not get enough of it. Does anyone know if they sell it in a regular size bottle? I googled and only saw hotel sized items on sale.
Rituals White Lotus & Yi Yi Ren Body Lotion Mei Dao - As mentioned earlier, Rituals is a lovely brand and this body lotion smells good. I do like it but in comparison to the Under The Canopy, there is no real comparison. However Rituals has other scents that I absolutely love.
Lastly we have the skincare pile and it looks like it can be a whole post by itself.
L'Herboflore Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Energy Biocellulose Mask - I bought a box of this mask and the actual texture of the mask is nice because it is not simply a flimsy sheet mask, it actually feels quite substantial. There is also a lot of product leftover so I use the serum for the next 2 days- that is morning and night. I like this mask and I am glad I bought a box of it.
innisfree it's real squeeze mask cucumber - The innisfree masks are an easy option to throw on. I used this one on the plane and even though I look completely crazy, it was very soothing on my dehydrated skin that was on the verge of cracking up. I think that because these are not absolutely dripping wet, it is less messy and you can just chuck the sheet afterwards. Easy peasy.
Guardian Baby Wipes with light Chamomile Scent - This is my favourite baby wipes. I can't believe I even have a favourite baby wipes but this one from guardian is a really good one. Despite housing 90 sheets, this stays moist throughout (I know some people hate that word, sorry). It isn't soaking wet, which means it would be difficult to use, and it does not dry out. I love this and I already bought backups. I think I have another pack of this and 2 of the scent-free ones. The scent on this is so light and mild I don't really detect it.
Guardian Facial Cleansing Wipes - This is the travel friendly version because there are only 10 sheets. They worked alright but I can't say that it was mind blowing or something I would be stocking up on. I don't mind repurchasing if I need some for travelling.
Murad Renewing Eye Cream - Murad is a repurtable but pricey brand. Still, I did not really know what to expect from this, especially as I am not as used to testing out eye creams. In fact, I don't usually like eye creams and I just use them because I think I should. However, I really enjoyed using this and it is something that I would purchase.
The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Clay Mousse Pack - I have decided that I love clay masks in mousse form. It feels less drying and is better suited to drier or more sensitive skin. I enjoyed this until towards the end, because it got really hard to dispense product out. I'm going to check out other clay masks but this was a good one.
Banila Co. Clean It Zero - After a whole month of daily usage, this is done and dusted. I have reviewed it and I already have a new one, that's how much I like it.
Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm - If you have not tried this, you must. It is one of my favourite cleansing balms. It smells so amazing and the texture feels beautiful. It does not work as well in really hot countries because the oils are not in solid form and it is really difficult to scoop out liquid from the jar.
BeeBio Active Manuka Honey and Royal Jelly Facial Creme - There is a full review on this coming up, but I did enjoy this in the colder, winter weather. I think it would be too rich for my skin in Malaysia but anyone with drier or more mature skin would like it. It feels substantial and when applied to the skin, the skin feels nourished.
Arcona Raspberry Clarifying Pads Repair - The pads are textured on one side and smooth on the other. The jar is plastic but good quality plastic that looks like glass. The actual pads also smell like artificial raspberry scent. I think that this was alright to use but it was not mind blowing. It did not sting my
Codage Eclat & Energie Radiance & Energy Serum - I had two samples of this and after using two bottles, I still find that it is not very impressive. The spritz is okay but I have serums which I prefer such as the Caudalie S.O.S. Quenching Serum.
Cleansing & Makeup Remover Towelette - These were included in the hotel package while I stayed at the Inn At The Opera, and I must say that I am impressed. The first ingredient is mineral oil, but it removes makeup effectively and efficiently. I do go in with a facial wash afterwards. I like this and I am impressed.
Melvita Argan Oil - I really like this as I have tried it in the full size. In fact, I have a second bottle that I repurchased.
Melvita Orange Blossom Extraordinary Water - I like this and it is very lovely. If you like extra steps in your routine that feel pampering and help your skin feel nourished, this is it.
Melvita Nectar De Roses Hydrating Day Cream - A very lovely lightweight cream that smells of roses. I personally don't enjoy the scent of roses as much as most people so I probably will not purchase the full size.
Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser - I have been curious about Sunday Riley for a while now but the prices are a bit high for me so I can't really justify buying anything. I am most curious about Good Genes but this Ceramic Slip Cleanser is meant to be for combination-oily skin so I thought this would be a good try. The sample size is a little too small for me to come to a real conclusion but it was nice in the shower and non-drying.
Aesop Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque - Aesop offers a few clay masks and I tried this one. It feels really nice and it did not dry my skin out. I have a full size of another mask which is quite lovely as well. I think Aesop is a really solid brand.
Avene Eau Thermale Cicalfate Repair Cream - I picked this up when my friend Anna picked it up for a rash. She had a reaction to a facial we went to in Poland and this calmed it right down. Having seen the product work, I picked this up and anytime my skin flares up or I need a good solid moisturiser without any faff, this is it! I will be repurchasing.
If you made it this far, congratulations! Next empties I will try to keep track of how many empties I have each month and at the end of the year tally it all up! This is also the last post for 2016 so thank you for reading and I will see you in 2017!
