Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil |
This is a treatment oil, specifically targeting people with oilier skin type. It is meant to balance skin out and I must say that is exactly what it does!
Clarins also offers the Clarins Santal Oil for dry-extra dry skin and the Clarins Blue Orchid Oil is suitable for dehydrated skin. Since these are all face treatment oils, the price is higher than your average face oil. If you have normal skin there is no need for any of them, but most people are dehydrated and can benefit from the Clarins Blue Orchid Oil. Having tried it, I can confirm that it is a lovely oil but I personally prefer the Clarins Lotus Oil for my skin type as I see an actual improvement in skin texture, not just the luxurious, pampering feeling at night.

The bottle houses 30ml of product and it has a pipette style dropper. I find that 3 drops of the oil covers my entire face. Unlike some other facial oils, this is actually really quite liquidy. I like that it is liquidy, because it spreads better across the face and you tend to need less. My personal preference is to use a facial spritz (my favourite is the Caudalie Organic Grape Water) and then I tend to drop the oil onto my cheeks (one droplet each cheek) and then one droplet on my forehead.

If you have oily skin (I have normal-combination skin), and you can afford to invest in a facial oil, look no further than the Clarins Lotus Oil. It has been repurchased despite the hefty price tag of £33.
I actually look forward to using this after my facial serum as it smells really soothing and luxurious, and I am used to associating the smell with sleep.
