I feel like sheer lipsticks have a bad name, people want something hydrating, packs a punch (in colour) and is long lasting. Sometimes, a sheer wash of colour is more flattering. Or you do not want too much going on with the lips but need a slight pick me up, this is where the sheer formulas stand out.

I have actually blogged about each of these lipsticks and have linked the standalone posts if you fancy more reading and research. There is no doubt in my mind that these are the chosen ones in the sense that many lipsticks have seen the boot, especially the Revlon Lip Butter range, and these are the ones I like both in texture and colour.

The packaging of my particular tube of Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle has gone a little more orange whereas it was originally more pink. The formula has not changed though and I actually really like it, especially for a drugstore product. This is not intensely hydrating, but it quite comfortable to wear on the lips.
If I fancy something a little more plum/just a hint darker, this is the lipstick I choose. There is slightly more purple in it, but so faint and again, the lipstick is very comfortable to wear and for the price, there is not much to complain about.
Nars Sheer Lipstick in Dolce Vita
One of my best no lipstick look, I actually really love how this lipstick takes down the pigmentation on my lips and gives off a "no lipstick" look to my lips. It pairs beautifully with a smokey eye and is not overly glossy. The packaging is also beautiful. I tend to wear it slightly built up but you can wear it sheer or REALLY go to town with it. There is a scent to this which I'm not the biggest fan of, but apart from that little niggle......
Burberry Kisses Lipstick in Peach Delight
One of my two Burberry lipsticks, this was picked out for me and my initial reaction was..... peach.... I don't like peach colours on my lips... I prefer pinks. However, this is surprisingly flattering. It is a nice change and sort of lightens my face and I feel younger wearing this lipstick. To me, make up is rather personal and emotional, and this is the exact feeling it invokes in me! I generally cannot pull off nude-y looks that are lighter on my lips but this is flattering, the packaging is perfect and the lipstick simply swipes on and glides on. LOVE.
My latest addition, I actually love pink lipsticks and this one did not disappoint. It arrived in a set (where each item is super wearable) and this is comfortable to wear. The lipstick does not have a pointed edge which I tend to prefer but because of the sheer formula, there is no fear of it looking messy.
The higher end sheer lipsticks (the last 3) are less glossy in finish compared to the 2 drugstore ones which I featured (the Revlon lip butters) but with the higher price tags, you get nicer packaging, and usually someone will be at the counter to help you select the best colour for you personally.
Do you have any of these lipsticks or are you against sheer lipsticks?
